Roman gladiator ‘killed by lion’ in York is world-first archaeological discovery

A suspected lion bite has been found on a skeleton in a Roman burial site in Driffield Terrace, York, leading researchers to believe that gladiators fought wild beasts in the ancient city of Eboracum.
