University of York Student Services centre plans now online

EXCITING designs have been revealed for the new £35M Student Centre planned for the University of York. After plans were submitted last week to City of York Council, the council has now published the full application on its website. The ‘truly iconic’ building, whose application was reported by the Press on Friday, is five storeys high and consists of an upside-down trapezoidal block. It would contain many environmental features as it aims to be Net Zero. The plans submitted to the city council involve demolishing three buildings- the security centre, the IT services building and the environment building. The project is co-designed by architectural firms ADP Architecture and O’Donnell + Tuomey, and aims to offer an iconic new arrival point on Campus West.
