Popular York pub sets up football team after winning charity match 9-0

A PUB that asked punters to swap pints for the pitch is now setting up an official football team after its players won a convincing victory at a charity match. The Quakerwood Pub in Acomb rallied regulars to form a team for its third annual charity match in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care and won 9-0 against a team from YRK Football Group, raising an incredible £2,300. This latest fixture takes the total raised for Macmillan to £7,300.
